Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Host Europe GmbH using a cPanel hosting package. When you access the website, technical access information is processed, including your IP address, time of access, requested content, technical connection data and, where applicable, browser information and referring page. This is necessary for delivery, security and troubleshooting. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and reliable website operation).

According to Host Europe, Apache access and error logs include IP addresses, among other data; archived Apache logs are retained for 14 days according to the provider. Details of logging are based on the provider’s documentation and depend on the actual hosting configuration.

Visitor statistics using Webalizer

Webalizer is active in the cPanel hosting environment. It statistically processes server log data, potentially including IP addresses, timestamps, pages accessed, referring pages and browser information. According to Host Europe, generated Webalizer statistics are not deleted automatically but are retained until deleted. These statistics are not actively used for the operator’s own analyses. Options for disabling Webalizer and deleting statistics with the hosting provider are being examined.

The necessity and legal basis of statistical processing as configured by the hosting provider remain subject to verification. The information on operation and storage is taken from Host Europe.

Contact by email or telephone

If you contact us by email or telephone, we process your contact details and enquiry to handle and respond to it. Depending on the enquiry, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (contractual or pre-contractual steps) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries). Email is also hosted by Host Europe. Data is deleted when no longer required unless statutory retention obligations apply.

No embedded tracking or external services

This website does not itself deploy tracking cookies, analytics scripts, remotely hosted fonts or externally embedded media. External links, including to the expert-witness website, lead to services governed by their own privacy notices.

Your rights

Subject to statutory requirements, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. You may also lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.
